The forest with its myriads of life-forms - Olivia Gibbs
Approximately 2,4 million trees are being cut down per day on our planet. If forests are the lungs and coolants, then it's no wonder the planets temperature has risen past 1.5 degrees Celsius.
Each tree creates a canopy for myriads of life forms to thrive. I intend to plant a million and eight trees before I die. The first phase of the Peace Tree Pilgrimage is to walk out from Caledon Village and walk to Platbos, the Southernmost Indigenous Forest in Africa, creating safe, bio-diverse indigenous walk-ways for Flora and Fauna to thrive and plant as many trees as possible in my life-time; with the help of Sponsors, donations and gifting.

Your donations will not only be used to ensure that trees get planted at Platbos, but that any indigenous trees donated that are not propagated from Platbos, will go to farmers along the way who are willing to clear alien vegetation and allow indigenous trees, Rhenosterbos and species of the floral kingdom to flourish.
Since last year the Peace Tree Project donated 150 trees to Platbos and local farmers, and with the discovery of an endangered species of the Floral Kingdom, with the help of David Gwynne Evans, our farm Kleinsandfontein has undertaken to preserve the Kloof area where it was discovered, thus allowing it to flourish once more for future generations to discover.

How you can help is by donating a tree for the Peace Tree Pilgrim Project to distribute, any donation towards preserving the walk-way, or help us to achieve our goal of planting a million and eight trees by taking a selfie of yourself and your tree which you have planted and post it up on
